We were connected to 2 or 3 Posts each, and you could interspeak with the other Posts by pressing a switch. Now, the people on the Post would report flying aircraft. I remember when it was quiet you would have chats with these chaps on the Post...."

"I was on duty another time when plane came up the river... an hostile plane dropped a bomb in front of the cathedral, the fins came off it went over the roof and landed in the Mill Pool without any explosion. It was one Sunday afternoon.... they raided a lot of cathedrals...."
